Weston Super Mare, Somerset, Marazion, Cornwall, St. Andrews, Fife. From mine and my parent’s birthplaces, the sea and the surrounding landscapes have been seared into my DNA. I now live on Mallorca, Spain...by the sea. So, I guess I was never going to be a portrait painter.

After attending Cardiff Art College in the early 80's I headed up to London and a 28-year career in advertising starting as an Art Director and finishing as Executive Creative Director of one of the biggest agencies in the world. This took me to Cairo, Egypt. Amman, Jordon, Dallas, Texas and finally back to the U.K. My paintbrushes were always close to hand but in 2012 I decided to paint full time.

I started with a joint exhibition at The Robert Fogell Gallery in Stamford, Lincolnshire. Robert and the exhibition gave me the confidence to continue.

After moving to Mallorca in 2016 I've had 4 solo exhibitions and several joint. I now have a few collectors and a growing commission list. The future is bright and so are my paintings.

As an artist I make marks and use colour to précis how I see nature. The marks and colour are abstracted from looking closer at the structures I paint. I use acrylic, ink, oil pastels and my trusty 2 inch screw in an attempt to find a different and more interesting way of communicating the world I see around me.
